I`m Ash , been diagnosed since `98. the spasms or jerks you are experiencing are normal, they are involuntary jumps and are well recorded for us NARCs. Related to this is shaking leg syndrome, sounds like an ELVIS thing but found at the beginning of NARC/CAT/Night Terrors I had it now I still have the involuntary movements. Hope it helps some what?, hope you are good at the moment LoL Ash

I experience the same thing, sometimes though it's my whole body - I can't move at all but I'm awake. It's like my whole body is paralysed. It usually doesn't last too long. Before movement comes back, my arms and legs twitch & jerk until I can move again. I have had narcolepsy for about 10 years but this didn't start happening until about 4 years ago aswell as a couple of other symptoms that have appeared over time. I find I experience the worst of it when I'm particularly stressed or about something. I hope this helps you in some way, even if it's just to know that you're not alone. If you ever want to chat, I'm here if you need me xo
MIne stated in 2000,I would be holding a cup of coffee and then it would be on the floor. I shock for no reason and my knee gives out on me. I have hit the floor and been so upset. i would tell people i tripped. Mine comes and goes. I never seem to know when it will hit me. My ex husband never could understand it and refussed to deal with it. Most people just do not understand. I tend to stutter at times, that is when i know its time to just go to bed, if i can.I am glad to find someone who knows what it is like. most people think i am nuts. So when I moved, i did not tell anyone what was wrong with me.
Do you find that you have issues at the end or jokes? I often find that, while I dont studer, I have a hard time getting out a complete joke without jumbling up the end. On anther Narc group I belong to they have discussed this as well...I dont know if that qualifys at cateplexy or just another strange and depressing side effect of N.
Sorry = probably not what you wanted to hear.
