Narcolepsy Support Group
A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a disorder in the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders can interfere with mental and emotional function. If you are having trouble falling asleep or having some other kind of sleep disturbance, this group is for you.
But now I'm curious, as I don't recall why Narcolepsy was initially mentioned. I'm guessing there would have to be more to it than just daytime sleepiness since starting medications for your doctor to bring up a "rare" sleep disorder...?
That's why I came here looking for answers. I guess the med I was on was just mimicking it.
I'll find out in time i suppose.
I hope you find something that helps all your symptoms. And, I don't know about everyone else, but I invite you to stick around. Just because it isn't N doesn't mean we can't share in your symptoms and vice versa. ;) Either way, keep us updated :)
Other meds can give you crazy dreams, too. And of course, if you suffer from anxiety in the first place, that's a possibility.
Really anything that affects the central nervous system can do it. Most recently, Chantix (the one for quitting smoking) has a reputation for crazy dreams, also a lot of anti-seizure meds. Neurontin, which is anti-seizure but also used for chronic pain does it for me and my mother, and she also gets them on different migraine medications like Topomax.
Could be lots of things. For your sake, I do hope that's the last word on N.
Good luck!
Have you ever been tested for epilepsy? Had an EEG? I wonder if there are other dream disorders.
