Narcolepsy Support Group
A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a disorder in the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders can interfere with mental and emotional function. If you are having trouble falling asleep or having some other kind of sleep disturbance, this group is for you.
I am new to this support group. I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy in 1996 when I was 18. And after living with this disorder for over 20 years, I still struggle with accepting my diagnosis. With that said, hang in there. In terms of missing work, teaching is a noble profession. For those who are not in the profession, they know not how difficult the job is. Not everyone can teach and not everyone can with Narcolepsy. So I applaud you. Remember, your students need you when you are at your best. If that means you take a day off to be your best or to be better, then take your day. You have earned the days and they are yours to use. Hopefully your principal/admin is not pressuring you.
With respect to the weather, stay strong. You are not alone in your struggle. I too will be struggling along side of you.
Hopefully you will read this message soon and we can start to have more communication. I would love to share more in time.
