I knew there was a quote by Bob Marley I really like, so I had to look up some. It was:“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.” But then I saw this one, which pretty much goes with the one you've shared:
“to love is to risk, not being loved in return. to hope is to risk pain. to try is to risk failure. but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in my life is to risk nothing.”
To risk nothing = cowardice. I'd much rather be remembered as a "fool", to die fighting a worthy battle, than a coward. Won't say too much more, because my feelings on cowardice are so strong. I heard last night on a documentary: "Courage is merely fear that has said its prayers."
