Myofascial Pain Syndrome Support Group
Myofascial Pain Syndrome (or MPS) is a term used to describe one of the conditions characterized by chronic pain. It is associated with and caused by "trigger points" (TrPs), sensitive and painful areas between the muscle and fascia. The symptoms can range from referred pain through myofascial trigger points to specific pains in other areas of the body. It may be related...

Anytime you are being dismissed as you have described is not a good sign.
If you haven't ate the percocet, Do you need them? I'm thinking I'm not following 5 percs for a year and a half and you've been living with bad pain. That's just sad.
I'd fess up to a doctor who specialises in Fibro and/or MPS. Oh and let them know how much motrin/alieve or tyelenol you take on a daily basis.
By the time I got to the doctor, I was taking way too much over the counter crud which was frying my stomach... The pain doctor had a cow at me for not getting myself heard.
Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon...
I take Mobic and Tramadol daily, and Vicodin/hydrocodone for breakthrough pain, and they help tremendously. Since I got this worked out with my doctor's help, I have been able to take back my life in meaningful ways - I work full-time again, and even ride my bicycle to work - yeah it's electric but I'm working up to pedaling more and more and I'm feeling in charge and healthy again.
If you can't get help and relief from this guy - find another doctor. We need to be good consumers of our healthcare. We wouldn't put up with this stuff from the guy who fixes our car - why do we put up with it from our healthcare providers?

My pain was over the top last night. I am NOT going to live this way all winter long again. I am going to make an appt. soon with the new dr. I have in mind. I've taken Percucet (sp) and it helps. Is Vicodine a milder pain med? if it is that's what i will ask for.
Thanks,

I am one of the people who have Fibro along FPS and the ONY thing tht does work are apin meds. They simply block pain messages. How could your dDoc say they wouldn't work. He should have just told you that he doesn't want to prescribe them.

I had a really great doctor who knew I didn't abuse my medication but he got a job offer in California and moved. Now I am seeing a guy that thinks everyone is an addict. I live in a really small town and there aren't may doctors to choose from here and they are all pretty closed minded. More than likely I am going to have to drive more than an hour to find one that is going to actually be a decent doctor. I think a lot of the doctors around where I live are here because they couldn't get a job anywhere else.
