Myofascial Pain Syndrome Support Group
Myofascial Pain Syndrome (or MPS) is a term used to describe one of the conditions characterized by chronic pain. It is associated with and caused by "trigger points" (TrPs), sensitive and painful areas between the muscle and fascia. The symptoms can range from referred pain through myofascial trigger points to specific pains in other areas of the body. It may be related...
Klonopin is the only thing that really quiets my muscle spasms. Lidoderm patches are my 2 choice.
What are you taking now?
I am also a young woman and have to use a wheelchair, too because of the spasms and nerve pain I experience. It is really tough and so frustrating at times, but I hope you can find a way to hang in there and keep trying.
Perhaps you can find a new doctor? I had a GP who didn't believe anything was wrong with me and told me that I had to "deal with it". I refused to believe that and, since then, have got a new GP and am now working with two sports med. doctors. I know getting a new GP is sometimes easier said that done, though...
Best of luck! Hugs!
My Primary doctor questioned me and i felt like he didn't believe what I said. Well after my Pain management doctor and Rehab doctor added him to the notes and cc'ed him on all my visits to them he started to really understand that I'm not faking !!
Hang in there, you are not alone and we all believe you and can feel your pain.
You guys are so young, I hope that your being so young will be in your favor and they can help this to resolve this for you both.
Keep posting you remember you no matter what these doctors say or make you feel, you guys are not crazy, your are not junkies you are dealing with a real condition.

You have my sympathy too. I don't think doctors realize how much fear is a factor here. I hate that feeling when the pain pill prescription is running low and I start to worry if they will refill it in time. (Sometimes it takes days for my pharmacy to do that.) Or when I was moving and had to get a new doctor to give me a prescription--that was anxiety provoking too. Thinking ahead to the pain being bad and not having the right medication can freak you out more than just feeling the pain.
The national press has been publishing all these scare stories about addiction to prescription drugs, so I think doctors are feeling pressure on that account. My totally jaundiced view is that now the DEA is about to give up on prosecuting marijuana users, there has to be a new demon drug trend they can battle.
