I was on that combination a year ago and it didn't work for me. However, I've heard from several others that it's a beneficial cocktail. It seems like a commonly prescribed mix. Good luck.
I actually was thinking of increasing my dosage because I have been feeling down lately, but I don't think I will. I would be interested if the addition of gabapentin really reduces pain. I am just a little leery of anything that messes with your neurotransmitters.
I have moved on to bigger (LOL) things...Klonopin.

To answer your question. Yes I have taken the two together with no problem.
My plan is what I take valium, elavil, and a pain medication ( either oxyIR or looking into Fentynl patch) that is just me though.
Next one to try and go off is the Cymbalta, I dont know if it is doing anything for me.
If you google cymbalta you will read all sorts of horror stories about taking it, withdrawing from it, etc. I read these before I took it, but after the first week my experience was not like the accounts I read.
Maybe though it will be easy for you to stop taking it. There are always horror stories to read on the web. No reason to scare yourself!
