what happens when the white count is going down as well and hemoglobin and platelets are affected? does that also mean the marrow is no longer making the whites as well? what can we expect?

I my case, yes, it does mean the bone marrow is not producing any cells. They kick start the bone marrow with Vidaza, and if I stop taking Vidaza, all the blood levels start to drop again.

thank you so much for your response. My dad is not making rbc and platelets and now his whites are on the downhill too. He won't do the vidaza so he is only on supportive care.

Is there a reason he won't do Vidaza?

when he was diagnosed last april he told the dr then he would not do any type of chemo and chose only supportive care. I think alot of it had to do with his age. he was 80 then and 81 now.

Since being diagnosed, my Dad has been low in all 3, white, red and platelets. Recently his platelets have returned to normal but no one knows why. He will be more suseptible to infections with a low white count.
