It is the sugar...it triggers our starvation feeling.
we become borderline diabetic. So if you want to solve the problem....eat protien, fruit and veggies.
Sugar just makes you want to eat more.
A quotation i already used in another post today seems right here too:
If you try anything, if you try to lose weight, or to improve yourself, or to love, or to make the world a better place, you have already achieved something wonderful, before you even begin. Forget failure. If things don't work out the way you want, hold your head up high and be proud. And try again. And again. And again!

I find walking at the mall, the big stores, and library quite reasonable for exercise. The goods and people are interesting to look at and I can shove around a cart and spend an hour without being bored and reward myself with a diet soda or coffee and salad. I even take advantage of doctor's appointments to roam the vast subways and skyways of down town Rochester MN at Mayo Clinic--many miles of them.
Sometimes the goals we set for ourselves are too ambitious.. My current goal is 2 lbs a month weight loss for a year and a 30 minute walk each day. Something that is doable!
Pilates was my best friend in excercise before I got so bad. I've got a machine, and you lay on your back for most of the excercises -- how great is that, you're already laying down if your muscles give up on you! Even on bad days I'd get on it and just stretch a little, maybe do some slow gentle leg pushes or something just to move my body a tiny bit.
When I could manage just a little cooking, my rice cooker was incredible. I did a lot of Japanese mixed rice -- chicken and veggies and a little seasoning cooked right in with the rice (tons of fresh ginger and garlic taste great). You can be very healthy with very little effort that way. I'm pooped out now if I even start a small pot of plain rice, and I can't chew it very well so it's a bit pointless right now.
What I do find helpful is drinking my coffee and tea black. I keep a lot of different teas on hand. Now I'm realizing I lose my voice most often after having hot drinks, so I switched things around a bit. Coffee I let cool, then add cold milk for good old fashioned 'coffee milk'. My newest is cold brewed peppermint tea, it's delicious (cold brewed in the fridge). Never add any sugar, but sometimes a little honey from my friend's beehives.
Be well,
