November has almost come and gone, so has 2013. WOW! I am thankful for this year and all its blessings. Overall, it has been a good year for us; a lot better than it could have been.

The chemotherapy has kept me out of the hospital this year. That is a record for me! I am thankful the side effects of chemo have not been too bad. I will go back to Vanderbilt for five days of inpatient plasma exchange in early December.

Randell (son) is doing better from his Grade 3 concussion last February. The more we learn from the doctors, the more we know just how close he came to dying. We pray for his continued healing.

Randell, Laela, Kerrell, JD, grandchildren, dogs, grand-dogs, grand-horse, and grand-donkeys are doing well; this makes us happy.

Cathy has been doing some cleaning for individuals. The Lord just dropped that in her lap and the little extra income has been helpful.

Switching over to Medicare has help too. I have Plan D for drugs, so I have little or no copay now. That is much better than the $250 per month I was averaging for my meds.

Things have worked out for me to receive a power wheelchair and it should arrive soon. The Lord also worked out a great trade on a mini-van to transport the wheelchair. We traded our 07 Accord for and 08 Odyssey that looks like new.

We are thankful for all of our friends and this MG support group. They mean so much to us.

Most of all, we are thankful for the Lord and His goodness to us.

Amen. When we have hope there are possibilities. I am thankful for my family and friends. I'm also thankful for the lessons I've learned on this journey...patience and forgiveness. I am..like you waiting to see what 2014 brings. God bless you all.

I am especially thankful for all those who are here onsite and gone that have brought hope and courage and joy to us all. Emotions only heightened when we actually meet.

When I am saying my personal thank yous, they always include my Vanderbilt doc and the person who led me there. Thanks again, Kerry. b.

Thankful for a doctor who, after almost 5 years of this, figured out that I have MG.

Thankful for a new grandson this year. Brody is almost 4 months old now.

Thankful for a caring, supportive, loving wife.

Last but certainly not least thankful for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There is SO much to be thankful for this year especially.
At the top for me is God's faithfulness to provide for our
physical and emotional needs. He fills theppotholes that heartache
leaves behind after the storms. Without God, I have nothing good.
With him, I have everything I need and more.

I am thankful for Gods many gifts and blessings this year.

I am thankful that I was able to attend my daughters wedding and that I had the strength to walk her down the aisle

I am thankful for the wonderful new friends I have met on this site

I am thankful for the incredible employer that I have that has been so understanding and helpful as I deal with MG and all of the changes is has brought into my life

I thank God for His many blessings in the midst of uncertainty about where my MG is headed. I thank Him for my husband and children who love me and pick up the slack when I'm too fatigued to do what I should. I thank Him for my doctors and their wisdom and skill. I thank Him for the strength He has given me to continue working and to at least do some of the things for my family that I would like to. I thank Him that I can still knit toys for my granddaughters and play my viola (in spite of the sharps and naturals all looking the same when my eyes tire!) And most of all I thank Jesus Christ for loving me more than I can comprehend and freeing me from feeling like I need to strive to do more and be more!

I thank God for bringing me to a place of peace this year. I had been lost in the darkness of no diagnosis. It is so freeing not to carry that burden anymore.

My first Grandson, Liam, was born 2 months ago. He looks at his Mom with such love and adoration, that I am able to witness again what pure love and trust look like.

I am so very thankful for my granddaughter's remission of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis this year.

I am so thankful for the approval of Social Security Disability this year.

I am thankful for the ability to forgive the people who have harmed me emotionally, financially, and those in their lack of care. This is where I have found peace.

Most Sincerely, I am thankful for the kindred spirits found here. It is truly selfless love that has been shared with me over and over again!

I am thankful that I get to stress out about holiday travel plans, birthday parties and Christmas presents, middle school applications, work challenges, and everything else, knowing how lucky I am to be able to worry and fret about these "good problems." I can't complain! ~Joe

I am thankful for my wonderful parents who have supported me since my diagnosis in February. They have been with for every doctors visit and every hospital stay. My mother even spends the night with me. I am also thankful for all the medical staff that has treated me, especially my amazing doctor.
I am thankful for God's many blessings and his guidance thought this MG journey.
I am thankful for my DS family and all the support they have given me.

I am thankful: for every member of this DS Forum - who comes here, looking for improved health - or who shows us a true path - to improved health.

I am especially thankful for my wife Ellen, whose continuous presence by my side - has kept me on this side of the dirt.

I am especially thankful, for: my Neurologist Dr. Gorson, my PCP Dr. Reynolds, and many (but not all) of the Specialists who worked on treating me.

I am so very thankful for who I am..... being able to be a good, caring person, friend and professional. I am currently struggling to continue working. The very essence of who I am. Helping others is beyond rewarding. I have few family members involved in my life. I am thankful for my cousin & her mother my Aunt. My cousin was my childhood friend right through us getting married and having our daughters. My daughter has not spoken with me for over ten years but we were close while she was growing up so I try to focus on the memories I had with her. My "family" are comprised of those I work with. I love them with all my heart. My special patient (quadriplegia) turned friend and his sister AND his service dog a magnificent black lab! They try to get to my office when they are at the hospital (2x week). I so enjoy the break and I am the only one who is allowed to interact with the dog freely.....lots of face licking! Today they made me cry.....they brought me an edible arrangement. I am so very thankful for the ability to make a difference in other's lives and that some people willingly give back by their kindness and support. I will be comfortably resting in bed tomorrow. Enjoying the dog show and calls from friends. To all my DS friends have a great holiday....Barb..

Gratitude is relative and personal. Gratitude can also be idiosyncratic and surprising. Today I am rather ungrateful because my clinic did not get my Ritalin script to me, and I would prefer not to participate in Thanksgiving, mainly because I am cooking the meal, which will be tough to do with slits for eyes and wobbly legs. On the other hand, I am grateful for the time I'll spend with my kids and a friend. Silly but true, I am grateful that I have been able to remain thin despite the huge doses of steroids. Someday when I am in marathon shape again, I want to get to marathon weight quickly. I guess I should be grateful for my endless determination, which serves me well in many ways, even if it gets me into trouble when it crosses the boundary to stubbornness. Mainly it always comes back to people though and being grateful for those near, dear, and even online. :)
