Myasthenia Gravis Support Group
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular disease leading to fluctuating muscle weakness and fatiguability. The hallmark of myasthenia gravis is muscle weakness that increases during periods of activity and improves after periods of rest. Although myasthenia gravis may affect any voluntary muscle, muscles that control eye and eyelid movement, facial expression, and...
I would check out of work early today, it's allowed if you are sick and get to bed, take something to make you sleep and Tylenol cold and flu. (take the non-drowsy) it always works for me. Lots of liquids.
You will feel better by Sunday and your solo will be a hit.
Sending you positive energy.
Richard
Looking forward to report on Sunday.

The only thing I would recommend is tylonal PM if you need sleep. It has done wonders for me lately and I feel great.
I was in pain( in hip and legs) for weeks and couldn't sleep and I was getting worse.
tylonal pm makes me feel as good as new.
I saved up my energy by not singing or standing before the piece. The sound guy started the accompaniment CD and it started in the wrong place with feedback. Then he restarted it and the solo went quite well with only a couple of glitches. The audio MP3 of the service isn't up online yet but will include a link when it is.
My hubby did a video of my dress rehearsal in our basement so once I learn how to load to Youtube (or wait for 20 year old to come home next weekend!) I'll post what it looks like. I am still amazed I was able to accomplish it, especially with a cold. My nose is now running like a faucet so I'm glad that wasn't happening this morning.
Thanks for all the good wishes everyone! It really helped to know I had a cheering section of MGers giving me strength!

I ended up coming home from work early today sick with my cold getting worse. So glad it happened today and not yesterday! I was surprised how much muscle energy it takes to cough. After two hours in bed, I was up and feeling much better.

Hope you feel better soon.
I'm doing much better today and hardly coughed at all. I think the steroid asthma puffers have finally started making a difference. But it was pretty scary. Some of my co-workers really don't know what myasthenia gravis is so I used it as a teachable moment. I told them I was deciding between going home and lying down and going to the ER. One of my managers has a friend with MG who lives alone so does understand that being home with hubby taking care of me was better than working alone, coughing too much, on the 5th floor of a deserted building!
