The Serenity Prayer is something we can certainly utilize and Curt's comments about Medic Alert "do dads" were always to the point.
Since Ann hasn't chimed in, I will add a couple of hers:
6. Rest, Rest, Rest.
7. Talk to those that understand MG (us) and you won't need to drive your friends away who don't.

When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.

When someone politely says, "Let me know if there is anything I can do for you", ask for a future commitment on the spot. Would you water my plants, pick up the kids from school, walk the dog, clean the litter box, put in Mom's hearing aids, etc?
(piggy back on rule #1...be one of those people)
Love, love, love the quote Marcela7!
