I had a muscle biopsy done to confirm my Steroid Myopathy. I developed muscle atrophy due starting at 60 mg Prednisone and then down to 40 mg over a six month period. I saw fairly quick recovery after tampering down to 20 mg Prednisone.
I have developed more issues with Prednisone than any other medication. I also have a very difficult time with tapering up or down. You could also just be having an issue with tapering down, especially when you get down to low dosage as you are now.
Wishing you the best.

Are you still at 20 mg? I have had issues with Prednisone but they have been the expected ones....weight gain, moon face, insomnia, and I have been taking alendronate and Calcium/Vit D supplements to protect my bones from Prednisone.
i must say that I am anxious to get off this drug if possible (but then, aren't we all, lol?)
Here's to good days ahead as you continue to taper.
hugs, Larissa
