My daughter had a rough time with acne when she was in school. She used proactive. It worked really well, but I'm not sure if it will be as affective on steroid induced acne. I would try it though.

Hi - you can buy over the counter products that contain salicylic acid or benzyl peroxide. Both can be effective. Wash the face frequently to keep clean. Use a cream or gel based product with either of the active ingredients after cleansing and allow to dry before putting on clothes or going to sleep (benzyl peroxide can bleach cloth) There are "spot" area creams for problems spots (higher % of active ingredient). The one caveat to acne treatment, is that it usually gets worse when first treated and then will be begin to clear. So patience is essential.

ProActive is a benzyl peroxide containing product and does work well for some. Over the counter or drug store products often work just as well when used properly. If those don't work, then its best to seek out help from a physician for prescription medication.

I had the same thing at 23!! I couldnt believe how bad it go on my jaw line and neck, shoulders and back....i felt awful.

No matter what i did i still had way more acne then i normally would, but i say clean clean clean. If i slip up for even a couple of days i would be flooded with new acne. If i showered twice a day and used a body brush to scrub in the shower it really helped. I also used proactiv body wash and lotion....it did help.
