very similar to me. My first Dr had studied in England and said statins should not be given with along with loads of other drugs.Now I have incontinence and diahrrea,and all drs said itwas not the mestonin. Then I reseached occular MI and that shows how common These symptonys are wirh MI. Hope this is helpful.

Thankyou cleo for your prompt reply. I gave up statins 2.5 years ago, when the MG symptoms became very obvious. Yes I know some primary care practitioners are aware that statins are contradictory to MG,although my GP is trying to restart me due to high cholesterol reading.

My main point is, that I believe this medication induces MG and other conditions
by unmasking them

I had to look and see what Statins were mainly used for. As far as I could see these are for cholesterol issues. One of the only things I have going for me is my cholesterol is that of a thin swimmer with the heart beat of a young athlete. So I am going to say not in my case. I will tell you that glycopyrrolate along with probiotics helps with the diarrhea and, at least for the the incontinence has tapered off to a manageable level. Don't get me wrong, both are still somewhat of an issue, but it is getting better. I don't venture too far from the house and have learned that using a public bathroom is better than purchasing new seats for the truck.

I have been trying to find a link as to why I ended up with MG as well. I started taking Simvastatin for my cholesterol in 2010 after having a complete hysterectomy. I began diabetic as well, so I also thought it was a change in hormones and I started on hormone therapy. I was dx with MG 9/2/2016 I was so ill the neurologist was scared I was going into a breathing crisis. I was started on prednisone and mestinon immediately. I started having trouble with lifting my hands over my head and chronic fatigue in 2014-2015 which I took MRI's for, that were negative. My neuro also told me to stop taking my statin that day because a side effect was muscle weakness. So there may be a link between statins and MG.

I been waiting for a television law alert to file a law suit as part of a class action suit because of such a link. MG has changed my life and not for the best. I am in the first full year of treatment and it has been hit or miss and up and down.

Thankyou Quen1966 for your invaluable input. I am absolutely sure that Statins are responsible for a Myasthenic like Syndrome. In my case it began 3 months after I began taking them. I suddenly experienced vertigo, my GP put it down to Meniers Disease. It kept reoccuring over the next few years, depending on how much stress I was under.
The Vertigo was sight based and not aural. That was the first signs of Occular Myasthenia.

I am afraid the longer you ingest this poison the less chance you have of making a full recovery from the devastating damage it is doing.

They wonder why there is an increase in late onset Myasthenia i.e. over 45y.o

In the UK the mass precribing of Statins began at the turn of the century, and since then the diagnosis of MG has increased aswell.

Its not brain surgery,its STATINS!!!!!
