i'm in my 50's just tapering up mestinon for past 4 wks but for last 4 yrs i sweat horribly! all year long espec in warmer weather but even in cold! i'm not overweight and thyriod is ok per lab work. is it related to mg? any ideas? hope you all have great w/w and thanks.i was in store today and it was just running down off face and neck. I HATE IT!

I feel your pain. Yes, one of the side effects of the mestinon is sweating. But (if you are female) could it also be premenapause? Has your MD checked your hormone levels? Also, some of the other medications for MG will cause sweating ( cellcept). How long have you been diagnoised and on MG medications?

Hi,don't know if I can help but my husband took mestinon for 5yrs and he had that same problem Winter and summer. He would always complain "I m sweating but I'm cold we always thought it was the mestinon. Hope you get some relief. KAT

One of my docs once said that temperature regulation problems are very common with autoimmune problems. Yesterday I FROZE and today I was sweating like crazy. I know with lupus people run a low-grade fever on and off when disease activity is up. Does that happen with MG as well?

I totally sympathize. I haven't gone through a summer on Mestinon yet, but I have spent the last four months cold yet clammy. The doc says it is a side effect. I am not looking forward to the hot weather.

I have night sweats but I am not on any drugs at the moment, I am post menapausal and wondering if this is the MG too causing the sweats. I see a new doctor soon, so I am hoping to have answers.

I never used to sweat until I started taking mestinon...now my hands and feet sweat all the time.

I also have very severe sweats, I thought it was because I stopped my femhart per OB. I have sweating issues at very embarrassing times, I didn't even think it could be mestron, I thought that I should start back on Femhart(hormones to get through menopause age 58, but been taking since age 44) L
