After 4 months of peace and tranquility, thinking that I was out of the woods, never to look back.... I heard a call... from the woods, "HappyGuy, it's me again, Reality... Remember me???" Virtually symptom free for wks, I noticed a bit of hoarseness in my voice last Sunday... Shrugged it off... air-conditioning, or the like... Not!! With no additional warning signs, yesterday, and today serious swallowing/chewing/speaking, THROAT problems from which there is no respite, no escape. Throat sluggish, lazy, rebellious even... Up all night. Very much down in the dumps. Hope it's just a cold, or the Flu(but, I never get the Flu...) and that I wont have to rewrite my future, again. Unsettling, is that the rest of me is OK.... In my first, and only consultation so far, my Neuro said I had a mild case, with bulbar involvement. "Oh, a mild case!" "With BULBAR," he said emphatically . I am beginning to understand the dark underscore... I know many friends here have far more serious concerns than this, but my words are best understood and felt in this forum... I wish a complete, and speedy remission of symptoms to all... I've been in quite a funk myself as of late too. I am sensitive to weather changes, which we've had a lot in Ohio lately. The seasonal allergies also enhance my myasthenic symptoms.

hey there sooo sorry you are feeling bad and down! I hope you are right and just have a flu or cold although even those things for us arent so good..I am dealing with an infection and heat here killing me so know how ya feel!!! Ya start to feel better and then bam something else comes along...I know I feel frustrated also!!! So hope you feel better soon!!! You are not alone my friend!!! Support and wellness to you!!!! My infusion doc said I was tougher than Cytoxan which just makes me better and doesn't bother me (with the pre and post meds of course). But I got a bug bite that revved my immune system and sent symptoms into overdrive. Bug bites worse than chemotherapy--we live in a topsy turvy world. Hang in there. Hope you are doing better every day. b

I didn't even know the word, "Bulbar" until recently. I agree with you HG; anybody who uses that word and, "Mild" in the same sentence obviously learned the word from a textbook. Hang in there, and try to stay healthy.

Hey HG, maybe thats not reality calling, maybe thats just a short little intermission. Let's not accept it as reality until it sticks around a while longer. I know you've had a tough road, I can totally relate, i have the nasty "bulbar" symptoms as well.... they are very disruptive to trying to pretend we lead a normal life. Take a deep breathe, with MG ya never know, you can wake up feeling entirely different tomorrow..

Friends, Looks like I, "have," something. Been coughing, sneezing, experiencing runny nose, watery eyes, etc. since yesterday afternoon. I'm thinking a cold, virus, etc.(no allergies) and suspect the MG exacerbation was the first sign of this infection. Hope I'm right about this... Neuro said to take more Mestinon, rest, and to call back if things don't improve in a day or two, or to go to ER if they worsen...

I know exactly how you feel as I'm in the middle of fighting off strep throat with amoxicillin . Glad to hear your enjoying tranquility mg wise as that's GREAT ! Over the years I've been in " remission " for months at a time and suddenly a random infection papers and mg symptoms start exasperating .

Like Mg ohio stated weather changes , particularly extreme have also managed to cause havoc ugh unreal , right ?

Hang in there my friend as you fight thru this and get back to tranquility .
