Myasthenia Gravis Support Group
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular disease leading to fluctuating muscle weakness and fatiguability. Almost everyone's facial droop here - is primarily one-sided.
The Nurse may be lovely, but how could she make such a drastically wrong statement?
You might want to consider a different care provider.

Before MG I had Bell's Palsy twice--one side of the face drooping/numb. At first with MG I thought that was happening--left eyelid wouldn't open all the way and problems chewing and double vision.
Those of us with MG have been amazed at the ignorance of some medical folks who tell us things like the person you talked to.

Wow, that is what my neuro said too. But also was the one that first diagnosed me with a stroke. From what I read, it almost always manifests itself on one side (at least first). From the replies on this topic, it appears that way too.
It also highlights the need to find someone who is more open minded to what the reality of life with MG is, we are much more than a square in a round hole,in my case l was an octagon so many sides,no one knew which side to smooth off first.
I invite medical staff to poke around DS whenever they respond with "that's not MG".
Take care.
