prednisone, and how to handle roid rage

does anyone else get roid rage from these prednisone pills, i'm on 60mg daily and as a single father of two teenage girls(14 & 16) i catch my self going abit chaotic inside, i've started taking attivan. now i'm hooked on anxiety levelers. So between attivans and once in a while a small 1/2" square of a pot brownie (which is not for everyone) i've gotten some control over the rage. However, you will get aggresivly hungry, the roids willmake you want a bowl of captain crunch, a salami sandwich and two donuts and for sure the brownie will double that~!!! I dont recommend this form of treatment to anyone, each of us is different in ourMG illness, our trearments are different, we are each different in how we are affected by this disease, i try to add a bit of levity to a very real situation. I have tried this and it works for me. some of you have read my story on how MG started on me, wasnt nice , just about killed me.hope some of you get a smile out of some of my posts, I love everyone of us,,,may god encompass us with his arms and hold us when we are weak...

I hear you norcal. Even small doses of prednisone make me a very angry person. I've had a lot of allergic reactions so many episodes of short term steroids of varying doses. Each time, about a week into the treatment, I would start to feel paranoid then angry for no apparent reason. Lord, if anyone gave me a REAL reason to be angry it could get ugly fast. It was like I had a personality change. This is one reason I resist the idea of prednisone for myself. I have two teenage sons, 14 and 15. It's not a good age to try to live with when you're struggling to be civil already. I'm glad you've found ways to deal with it. Realizing why you're feeling that way is half the battle I think. Humor definitely helps and I enjoy yours. :-)

I haven't had the same problems, the two times I took the prednisone, I felt great, but my husband suffered through fulminatating poison oak dripping arms and all rather than take steroids because of what he had seen and knew. On the advice column, check out the post about anxiety and depression. Right now it is the first one. People posting there have experienced the problems.

Actually it is prednisone depression and mental health. If my mental health were better, I could have remembered the name for as long as it took me to switch from one page to another! b.
