Today was the first day I felt semi-ok after this battle with pneumonia. I have since lost 20lbs in 2 months. I began to feel as if my life was truly over. This was the first time that my MG put me in such a crisis mode. I was unable to eat because the mucus was so thick it would fill up my mouth the minute I put any food in it and make it very difficult to swallow. Did I mention I have Sarcodosis as well. They discovered this upon viewing my x-rays. Considering I have never smoked, I figuered I must be the most un lucky person in the world.
Has anyone ever battled pneumonia..and If so how long does it take before you start to feel better? I have been out of it for 3 weeks now. The Zpack brought much relief, but my energy level is still vcery low. I am only on metinon 60mg 4x/day.

I was admitted to ICU and stayed in the hospital for 12 days one year ago. I was on several antibiotics plus prednisone and of course oxygen. I was very weak and unable to care for myself. I stayed home an additional two weeks after discharge. I still get short of breath after walking a distance.
Don't hesitate to go back to the doctor. Z pack is not recommended for us and you may need additional help.
