I had to get a more permanent one because all the ins and outs of the previous ones had caused occlusions in my neck veins. The surgeon told my daughter that he didn't think I was a good candidate for an a/v fistula.
There are a few other members that have implanted ports.
They can also place separate larger bore ones on each side, but that wasn't an option for me because of the occlusions.
