Today I had plasmapheresis like I do every 4-5 weeks. Other than my veins not wanting to hold up, I usually tolerate it well. Today however, I vomited like crazy afterwards (and I had a optho appt for the cataracts that I developed from the prednisone,...so I kept running to the bathroom from the waiting room)! It turns out I was hypovolemic. In otherwords, the total volume of my blood was not replaced. What was taken out was not totally replaced with the albumin they standardly put in. I realized this and realized it was my fault. Due to the steroids - my weight has been slowly creeping up and I did not tell my nurses because I didn't think about it. They calculatae how much albumin to put back in your veins based on the weight they have in the computer.

Ajnyway - this is something I hadn't thought of, but it is important to keep our nurses up to date on our weight!!!
