Out of Hospital

Hi, I just got home from the hospital last night. last Wednesday I was having a very difficult time breathing! Ended up in the ER and then ICU for a week. With the help of a Bipac machine and Nebulizer my breathing is much better. My Neuro and the specilist decided to give me the IVIG treatments as well as up my Prednisone to 50 mg. No side effects from either. I am so glad to be home!! This disease is something else. Trying to stay positive!! I will see the specilist in 2 weeks and he is talking about puting me on cellcept. Does this sound like what usually happens?? Hoping the IVIG treatment starts to kick in. My Nuro said it could take 2 weeks to see any improvement. My arms are very weak,speech is getting a little better, legs are better also. Any imput would be appreciated!!

I went on cellcept about 2 years ago. They said it would take about a year or more to take effect. I started feeling much better about a year after being on it. I have found the treatment works very well. I was on 60 of predisone and I have now weaned down to 10. Not symptom free but the treatment plan is what I have found to be the best.

Carolela, so glad your back & the care was good. The treatment sounds very common on here, look in the discussion search if you want & you'll find much info their. Whatever helps,helps!! If it's more bearable than the all out MG everyday that is a God send!!! Yae for you girl!!:))) MeLisa

I am so glad to hear you are getting on a better treatment plan and that you are home from the hospital. Everyone responds differently, so the best treatment is the one that works for you.

Sorry you are having such a bad time of it. Keep your doc posted on your breathing difficulties.
Glad your home and hope someone is there with you to help with things.

Im on Cellcept and get plex until cellcept kicks in. It's been 4 months and Im slowly improving. Hang in there, it isnt as quick as we would all like it to be but it can get better:)
