I was only diagnosed in September and I wonder the same thing. I have a special needs daughter (the youngest of 4 that we adopted) 3 grown biological children and their children... and we've taken in my parents. (Mom has Alzheimers and dad is a brittle diabetic.) With this disease I can't be anyone's caretaker, I can no longer do what I used to do. I'm not even the same person because the Prednisone has changed me into somebody I don't want to be...angry, irritable, depressed.

What are your worst symptoms? What meds have they tried?

Do you have any friends/family who can take them for breaks so you can rest and recoup for when they get back?

I'm in the hospital now for IVIG treatments and social workers are saying that if I'm on Medicaid or Medicare I can get help. It was suggested that I apply for Social Security disability to do that.
I'm going to look into it.

My worse simptoms are my arms and legs giveing way and blurred vison it's sending me mad. My family don't seem to understand what's going on its like talking to wall. Thank you for ur kind words xx

You might have to do things slowly at first as did i when caring for my home, but just keep your head up. It will get better, nothing is impossible sweety. God bless you! (:

Sorry, you are so young to be coping with this. At our age they might want to do a thymectomy. For me, at 64, this is not much of an option. What helped me the most was plasmapheresis. This eliminated the oversupply of ACHR in my blood and then I started Prednisone. This week I am starting Imuran as well. From my own experience Mestinon can temporarily help with symptoms but I really needed the immunosuppresants to get better. I am so much better off now than I was, I got my drivers license back after 3 years, I can see now and my left leg works. I still have a lot of difficulty swallowing. Hopefully you will be able to get a treatment regimen that works for you to get you back on your feet quickly. I have made a lot of progress in the last 3 months. Best wishes.

thank you everyone one for your kind world i have been to see my doctor he wants me to start on a new drug he did say what it was called but i have forgot. a high dose of steroid but it can make my bones rot... so not too sure on what to do but hey on the bright side my test on my chest came back clear. thank you so much it helps so much to no im not in this on my own. something it feels so lonely. and always having to explain your condition to ppl xxx

Just know you are not alone !!! I was just dx in Sept 2016 after a year of worsening symptoms and doctors who made me feel like I was crazy. I am still trying to find a treatment plan that works for me as well.. So stick in there.
