Cellcept will take many months to see an improvement. I have difficulty tolerating most meds, but I am currently on cellcept. It was deemed the least problematic for me.

I have been on cellcept since Sept of last year I still have problems but they are staying steady so far. So far it has been easier for me to tolerate than the Prednizone and imuran. Just take oneday at a time.

It took a year to work but cellcept has been a wonderful drug with no side effects other than a little nausea whith increases. Prednisone and imuran gave me some very bad side effects. My neuro feels it is a wonderful drug and I totally agree with him.

How much Mestinon have you taken to say it is not effective and what are your symptoms?

I am on both Cellcept and Mestinon. Neuro # 1 said perscribes Cellcept only if possible, neuro # 2 wondered why I would not have been on Prednisone & IVIG from the start, neuro # 3 is pleased to see that Cellcept has worked so well for me but admits the neuro community have little knowledge of the drug; too young a drug, and can take long to be effective.

Both medications have worked relatively well for me.
You are still on Mestinon yes?

Neuro #1 wanted to rely on the thymectomy and Mestinon. Neuro 2 wanted ivig only. Neuro 3 ok'd cellcept ivig and Mestinon. The reason more neuro's recommend imuran over cellcept is because there have been more studies done on imuran. In my research, cellcept had fewer (known ) side effects. It is an immunosuppressant so you need to take care to not be around people who are sick, wash your hands a lot, etc.

I've been on cellcept for over a year now. Took about 10 months to start working. I was recieving PLEX and IVIG until it did.

At month 8 I had trouble with the 1000 mg twice a day and weigt loss, bone pain. Now am doing well on 500 mg twice a day.

Not my old self but very functional.

Prednisone gave me other serious medical issues that kept me in the hospital and made me worse. So this was why my neuros went this way for me.

I have been on Cellcept for only three months and no problem. It will take about a year to see some improvement. I am also on Mestinon 60mg four times a day. Keep in touch. God bless. Cabbage7

hi...ive been on cellcept since 2007.....dont seem to have any troubles with it....i know one time when i tried to go off it.....ocular MG and double vision set in very quickly.....took prednisone....and eye patch and upping my cellcept to get my vision normal again.....

Ive recently just started Cellcept myself and was skeptical about taking it after what I had read online with the side effects but felt a lot better about taking it after reading other group member comments about how it had helped them and very little side effects. Im also on Prednisone and Mestinon as well.

I am on large doses of Mestinon and just started Cellcept about a week ago or so.
