my understanding is that there are not many labs in the nation that can run this test (my blood travelled all the way to the east coast for the test, actually!), so it can take a long while. I remember my MUSK being a very long wait indeed.

I watched a presentation by a Neurologist today online and he said that an AChR test can take 4 to 6 weeks so I assume the MUSK one would likely be around the same amount of time. Hope that helps!

My musk test took around six weeks to come back.

The waiting is the hard part. Good luck with all the testing.
All mine were negative. Only the SFEMG was abnormal.
I get my follow up appointment to that in early October.

I go to get blood draw for MuSK test on Monday. Hoping it doesn't take 6 weeks for results, because Mestinon and prednisone are not controlling my breathing issues, but neither neuro nor pulmonologist want to deviate from the treatment until MuSK is confirmed or ruled out. multiple trips to docs, plus being ambulanced straight from neuros office to the ER is not my idea of fun. Argh!

Seems like only a small percentage of us seronegative folks test positive for this, and they're predominantly women?

I'm with Essential on this one. The waiting part is gonna suck!

Very timely thread. I had my blood taken for MuSK and LEMS on Tuesday. Add an extra day for shipping from Canada and I'm still waiting a month or two? I had to wait nine months for this approval to come through so can afford to wait as I am reasonably stable on Mestinon for now.

My blood went to Athena Diagnostics in Worcester Mass. Anyone else know where theirs went? When I downloaded the forms it said 7-10 days turnaround.

Flutebell, my labs are going to the same place in MA through Athena Diagnostics testing. I saw the same turnaround time listed on their site but no telling how long it will actually take.

Sorry you've had to wait so long because the meds can be so different if MuSK positive! Argh!

I was tested back in 2006 or 2007. I think my blood was also sent to the Athena lab. I do remember that it did take a few weeks to get the results, but I don't recall that it took 2-3 weeks. Six weeks seems like a long time. Hope y'all get your results soon. Hugs.

mine just got back last week. it went to Athena also...took 3 weeks...but came back negative. My new neuro is basically starting over with all the antibody test and the musk was the first, just gave blood this morning for the other antibody test of which i have been positive before....i hope yours comes back negative...blessings to you....terry
