More PLEX for me.

My Myasthenia Gravis has worsened lately. I talked with the neurologist late last week and began the process of approval for additional plasma exchange. Everything is ready. I have the vascular catheter inserted in the morning (Tuesday). After that, I have five days of plasma exchange at Erlanger in Chattanooga starting tomorrow.

prayers Kerry, for better days, I will be having a port up in sometime in Feb, or at least that is the plan.. Let us know how you are doing.

Kerry, I know of your journey, the sacrifices you've made because of MG. I wish for peace and that things would go better for you. Thanks for sharing your experiences along the way. I remember you mestinon video with you showing the situps you could not do before the mestinon, and then you could after you took it. Think about how you were when you were successful with the situps after the mestinon....Be strong minded and confident my friend. You are not alone, as there are too many people battling with this disease. Please keep us posted.

Good luck, Kerry. I'm thinking about you. I motorcylcing that whole Tenn/Georgia/NC area and have a warm spot for Chattanooga.

PLEX is a good strategy, and with the port, you won't have to deal with the challenges of vein collapse. With a little bit of luck, you will feel much better by Friday. Look ofrward to it!

If you missed the video, here is a link to his blog: 1-21-11 is when the video was shot of which I speak. It is a sign that his MG had progressed and not that the mestinon was less effective.

Quick Update: Erlanger uses a new PLEX machine that filters (not spins) the blood. It runs much faster and I did very well during much of the procedure.

Just before the end, I had nausea out-of-the-blue and threw-up immediately with no warning. Zophran is a wonderful friend.

I will be Zophraned-Up today!
