Hello everyone,
My wife has had MG for the past 6 years and she currently gets IVIG treatments every 4 weeks. She has been getting these treatments for the last 2 years. I believe without them, she would be a lot worse.
She has made the decision to get a port put in since her nurses are having a very hard time getting her veins. She has always been a hard stick due to the location of her veins and that her veins are small. We both believe that this is the best option because it has been torture for these last few times.
I am just wondering if anyone has every gone through the surgery to have a port put in and how it went? What are the risks? How long does recovery take? How has it changed your life?
I know those are a lot of questions but I want to be able to have all the information I can before this surgery happens.

I just had a port put in. Interventional Radiologists can put them in with just local and recovery time was minimal. I am yet to use it. I have infusions very 3 weeks.
