Has anyone tried the generic version? If so, does it seem to work the same as the original?

That is great news. Also curious as to who has tried the generic vs the brand.

This will open doors for those on a fixed income and those who only have prescription coverage for generic medications. Hopefully it be put on the $4 generic listing that many pharmacies now have.

MGOhio- It's funny that you mention the patent issue.
I just read an article (Like 2 days ago) in one of my professional magazines that took a closer look at this process. I was fascinated by just how much goes into it.

I think that others would be interested to know too so I'm going to post a summary of the article soon.

I was using the timespan from "73" till remission & again now. I was surprised there wasn't a generic yet after all this time.

I'm not sure if this is a factor in what happened to me today or not, but...

So about 4 days ago I ordered my refill for my 180mg time span Mestonin. In the past it was ready within a few hours. Took 4 days and many "we're checking with your insurance and or Neuro Dr" So today i finally just go to the pharmacy and its ready. But its the 60 mg pyridostigmine. I asked "what happened to the time span Mestonin". She (the pharmacist) told me that there is a shortage of it so my Neuro just said to use the Pyridostigmine 3 times a day.

Well...better than nothing I guess??

Oh for what its worth, I'm in the Phoenix area, so not sure if its a regional thing or not??

There's no shortage of it here, but the price has gone up astronomically! It has steadily increased till it is now over $700 for 30 pills. thank God for insurance.

limpnoodle...maybe the cost has something to do with it and my insurance is playing hardball....hmm. Oh well, there are people who's situation is far worse than mine, so no big deal. :)
