Absolutely had to restrain myself when another woman approached me at the NY walkathon to peddle this nonsense (By the way, that's me and my redheads at 2:10 & 9:33 in the video). She had a little poster and a web site, and she was stopping everyone to tell them about this "cure" and how the pharmaceutical companies (who she said were sponsoring the Walk-a-thon) don't want you to know about it. I didn't see Freya Koss, just this other woman who held her signs.

Okay -- As with many "alternative cures", mercury is pointed to as the cause of all sorts of different illnesses. All I know is that the fillings do not have detectable levels of mercury in the body -- so you do it by faith alone. I asked her how effective chelation therapy is when there are no detectable levels of mercury in the blood to start with, and the person(the sign holder) apprised me correctly as one who was not buying her BS.

That goes for many of the ads on this website -- most are alternative cures that go for any disease. Lupus, MG,MS -- its all the same since the $$$ is the same color either way.

She claims not to be in remission -- she "claims" to be cured. I hope she is having success dealing with her MG (which she clearly still has). What she gets out of this I don't know.

But thanks for posting, becwithkids -- I look pretty good in the video anyway! Sort of miffed that I am used in an advertisement for something I utterly despise.

This is the first time I had heard of the mercury theory/theories and I appreciate your opinion. The knowledge of people in this group has helped me stay on track with what is fact and what is hearsay... Love it!!!

Thanks for the kind words! I should add that Freya Koss noticed her symptons after a dental appointment where she had major work done -- I wonder what else a DDS uses that could trigger MG -- perhaps novocaine? We know stories from this board about this stuff!!! I am worried that she is endangering her health by not going for more tested therapies...instead she is being her own doctor, her own researcher, and coming up with her very own cure and letting herself be her own guinea pig. Dangerous territory.

Anyway -- I hope a more level-headerd person can give you a more balanced opinion -- I am a partisan.

When I first had MG, in my denial stage, I was searching for reasons, and I am sure if you go back far enough you will see my Mercury postings here. My mouth has many fillings from childhood. Only reason my Dentist would want to take them, out is to "update" them. Nothing more. They are old now. She wants my white gold gone too! Go figure. Basically everything I found was inconclusive. You show me one that says they can give you MG, and I will show you one that says they cannot. Certainly not something to "beat yourself up" about. Here is a factual link stating the controversy:
