Beyond anything that involves autoimmune effects, on the gut?
There's always the troubles with Mestinon.
And probably - all the other pills, that we take.
Which product(s) are most helpful - in restoring balance?
Some sort of probiotic supplement?
Or, the greek yogurts that are so popular.
Or, other products that are available.
An individual thing, a snowflake thing.
I don't know. But I'm gonna ask my pharmacy.
They have always had good advice, in the past.
(Will ask my Neuro, next time around.)
Several times in the past? There have been other postings here, warning MG patients - to be careful of products containing magnesium.
I see that Imodium - contains magnesium stearate.
Is there enough magnesium stearate, to be a bother to MG patients?
Again - I don't know.
But another good question, for a MG Specialist.

I sometimes put yogurt instead of milk in my morning cereal with fruit. I am not particularly fond of it by itself. My hubby had Gi problems with an antibiotic and yogurt cleared it in one day. (Since he was still taking the antibiotic, he had 3 to 6 oz a day).
I used it for the same purpose when I first started Mestinon and that helped, too. Now I sometimes have embarrassing noises, but no other problems on much higher doses. I also found that chewing the Mestinon and waiting to swallow puts it in circulation faster and spares the gut to a large extent. (I take it that way during the night or before I actually get up in the morning.)
I often take one of my doses of Mestinon with yogurt, I am particularly fond of the coffee kind, I hope the caffeine doesn't kill all the good stuff. b.
