Caroline, my sister was diagnoised in June 2011. Our doctor advised us to get a drug plan so we found one that we could afford. After much research we settled on Humana Preferred. Before that we were getting the meds from Northwest Pharmacy in Canada. Dean has a $369 deductable and met that the first month. All the meds have been covered since. She has had two IVIG's medicare has covered them. I get meds at CVS and Walmart. I have found that CVS beats Walmart on some and vise versa. Thanks for that information. I've been talking with my insurance agent that I purchased my medicare supplement through. He is very helpful.

I go on US Medicare, in a few months - when my wife retires.
I'm already signed up: for total Medicare. Parts A, B, and D.
I have 8 Rx, taken daily, multiple dosages.
(How'd that ever happen?)
We use our local CVS pharmacy, 1 mile away.

Medicare told me, just last week?
My Medicare-D plan, that covers prescription drugs?
Will cost me $100 a month.

The next-nearest, lowest-priced Rx-plan, that I could find?
Was almost 3-times - the cost of the Medicare plan.
And it was a bulk-mail plan.

An easy decision for me!

Sidenote:
Here are my Medicare health insurance costs, in retirement.

Medicare-A, hospital & rehab-facilities: free, for all US citizens.
(some small co-pays.)
Medicare-B, doctors & diagnostic-tests: $165 a month.
($20 co-pay, I think was the quote.)
Medcare-D, Rx coverage: $100 a month.
NO deductible, NO co-pays!
(The ''do-nut'' hole is $2500 this year. All gone, by 2014.)
