Yep its true and they ( a nurse) comes to your house. We had a presentation on this at our local support group mtg. It was very informative! They hydrate you first with iv fluids then give iv treatment slowly.
Knowledgeable about if you need other meds like benadryl or tylenol etc. too, with treatment. For instance, If you get a headache they slow the iv rate, give med for headache and when that is relieved they put rate of iv back where it was.
There is no cost unless you have a deductable, if you cant pay that they have a billing plan to help. The cost to insurance was only 5500 so since lower then hospitals and doctors office more insurances might cover more treatments.
There was an MG patient who spoke also she gets ivig every 3 weeks, has tried hopitals and other companies and has the best experience with walgreens (like no more headaches!!). She likes being at home and afterwards can just go straight to bed(she has hers done in evening).
I am not endorsing this just putting the info out there as another option for those who need the treatment. Apparently they have been doing this for years, as they also give treatments for people who have had transplants ( and other disorders). I never heard of this service from them.

Walgreens is an excellent company and I have used them for other home care reasons in taking care of my parents. You need to pick a setting that you feel comfortable with, will get the best care and most importantly where your insurance will cover. You are the medical consumer and you need to self advocate for your care. Best of luck.

I had Flebogamma when I had a round. Sometimes I wonder how I would be if I ever had it again?

I noticed the chart I posted was from 2007, and there are others to view online. They don't report the same info, and it does have me a bit curious also. One thing I will say is the chart I posted isn't from a particular pharma company. It comes from the American Society of Hematology.
