I had a loading dose of 2gm/kg over four days and now get 1gm/kg over two days every four weeks. It is not exactly maintenance in the sense that i know I need it several days before it is due, but it is a regular.schedule. b

I did it twice monthly for almost 4 years and now do it weekly and it helps so much. Everyone is individual and and response is different for any of the MG meds as is the dosing schedule and the type of meds used. Your neuro will find the "right med cocktail" which keeps you at your highest functioning level if the 2 of you work closely as a team.

I go in every other week for three days. I have been on that schedule for several months. It took a while to find a plan that works. I've always gone every other week but I started with four days and it was too much. I started having a reaction on the fourth day. Then we tried two days and it wasn't enough. We finally realized three days was perfect. I just re-read my post and I sound like Goldilocks.

There also may be an insurance issue. When I first started IVIG my insurance wouldn't cover preventive, so I had to wait until I was close to crisis and go through the ER to get my treatment. Talk to your dr and see if you can set it up on a schedule.

I get IVIG weekly at home. Has kept me stable for a few months as I spent lots of crisis and near crisis time before that.

Every three weeks over two days. Been on this schedule for six months... best I have felt. But unable to decrease other meds yet. Good luck!

Next week I begin ivig at home over two days. The script is currently written as every six weeks.

I have it monthly. It is working brilliantly. I am due my next dose, next Friday and think my body will be ready for by then as I have stepped up my activities. My first time, was over three consecutive days and it gave me such a boost in my strength but also awful headache. Next time was just one day and no headache. Make sure you ask them to do it slow and drink loads of water before, during and after.

For the past several weeks I have been going to the infusion clinic for a twice week treatment of IVIg. Now I'm receiving it at home twice every other week.

Right now my schedule will remain at twice a week every other week for at least three months. If I'm not mistaken, this schedule will be renewed and repeated again at the end of 90 days.

The amount of IVIg is determined by my neurologist at Stanford University. I am just now beginning to recover from an MG crisis which has lasted for several months.

Fortunately, I get my infusions at home, which is no problem since I retired. Since I'm home I can go to bed, use my computer, or do pretty much whatever I want while receiving my IVIg. And, these days IVIg seems like a walk in the park compared with what I've been through.

Hope things work out well for you. See if your insurance will cover at home infusions. It makes the procedure much more convenient.
