I HAD 5 TREATMENTS. ONE A DAY FOR 5 DAYS.....IT FINALLY KICKED IN IN ABOUT A MONTH FOR ME...I DO FEEL BETTER, I GUESS IT MAKES SOME PEOPLE FEEL BETTER THE DAY AFTER THEY GET THEIR FIRST IVIG. I STILL HAVE MG SYMPTOMS PRESENT. AND I STILL GET TIRED AND WEAK, BUT IT DID HELP SOMEWHAT. I HOPE IT DOES WONDERS FOR YOU

Thanks Terry!!! Really reassuring that I may continue to see benefits grow. Some say it lasts for a few months, others much shorter. I can only cross my fingers.

I have some ferocious MG symptoms.
I receive IVIG, once weekly.
(Since December, 2012.)

There are people, here on this support group?
Who have been getting IVIG, once weekly - for many years.

And there are also people?
Who get intensive IVIG, many infusions in a week.
Like you, and Terry, and drpdhmr.

Yet some people - seem to do okay -
- with IVIG, once every 6-months.

It's a very individual thing.
That's why people with MG - are nicknamed 'snowflakes'.
Like a snowflake itself? Each one - is different.

Just finished the 5th day of ivig today. I have noticed a very slight change with breathing on day 4, and just a little more today. Still slurring when I talk too much and a little trouble with my eyes still, vision and drooping. Doc says in about a week I should notice a improvement. Scheduled for 2 more rounds on November 25. Hand in there Scidude, we're pulling for you.

Congrats on completing the first round. For me, after the first round, felt positive effects after about a week, they lasted about a week, symptoms improved 30 percent or so. After second round, improvement lasted 10 days or so. After third round, improvement lasted 12 days or so. After fourth round, improvement lasted 14 days or so. I hope your improvement lasts months, or longer. Wishing you all the best going forward.

I know how hard it is starting a new treatment and waiting and hoping it will help. I have responded really well to IVIG. I get it for 3 days , every 8 weeks. usually get a really bad headache , feel tired and achy for the first 3-4 days.. After about a week I see significant improvement with mg symptoms and fatigue. Usually around the 6-7 week I start having neck weakness and some blurry vision when I am tired. But up to that time, I am usually free of all mg symptoms and able to have a good quality of life. I still get really tired by the end of most days.

Hi, and welcome to the ivig circle :). I've been getting it every 2 weeks, one day, for a year. I'm on a very low dose (25 grams) compared with others. I just went to 3 weeks because I was always feeling good in the second week. Ditto Tim62, it wasn't an instant improvement. It did give me my chew, swallow and talk back pretty quickly. I also had a thymectomy in aug.2012 due to a thymoma. It's a process, to be sure. It should get better for you. Be sure to drink 8-10 glasses of water--every day. It helps the ivig do it's thing. Today, I'm working, but not back to normal energy yet.

I feel the benefits in 4-6 days afterwards. Usually by day 4 i'm feeling much better. Like Judith, it gives me relief from symptoms for about 6-8 weeks. Everyone is different though.

I'm getting IVIG weekly. They tell me it stays in blood for about 18 days for most, but apparently not me. We are definitely all different.

SCIDUDE, I have had IVIG twice now and have found that it takes me about 10 -14 days to really notice a difference. During this last round I thought I noticed a slight difference at about day 5, but it seemed that about a week or slightly more for me is when I really noticed the difference. Overall the effects lasted about 8 to 11 weeks, but were noticeable for about 14 weeks.
