Do you have a lot of stomach problems with oral mestinon? And how many times per day do ou have to inject? Oh, so many questions, sorry!

Welcome back! I haven't heard of injectable Mestinon before on this site. Did they tell you why they wanted you to use this method? Would be interesting to heare more about it.

I have tried all the other Mestinon forms (regular 60 mg pills, timespan, pediatric) and all of them cause severe stomach issues. Currently. I am injecting 1ml about three times a day. I only get about three good hours from it. The doctor said I can take it every four hours, but I try to get out of the morning dose (I always seem to be at my best in the morning). He is comfortable with me playing with the dosage up to two ml every four hours to try to find what feels right for me. He also said I am his only patient on the injectable mestinon, so not sure how comfortable I am with that. It does burn while administering, the burning sensation lasts for almost an hour right at injection site, but is very tolerable. The only thing I noticed is my legs seem a little swollen today. However, I forgot to take my cellcept last night (was really pushing a deadline for my child's homeschool report and it just slipped my mind). So, possibly it is caused from the cellcept. It seemed when I was on cellcept before my issues did not start until I had been taking it for awhile.
I do not get any of the stomach issues I had on regular mestinon. I will get a very short time span of feeling as though I am going to vomit, but it only lasts about three minutes and then it goes away. Very odd! That is listed a side effect too, so I suppose it is pretty normal.

Mestinon messes with my stomach a little bit, but its not too bad. I hope the injectable mestinon works for you.

I take the regular mestinon and it does a job on my stomach. Much, much worse at first but now is tolerable as long as there is food in my stomach. I seem to be eating something 24 hours a day. I prefer simple saltines.
