The attending just told me that it is a very individual thing (how many treatments one receives...)
I was just confused as I was anticipating being in the hospital for a few days.
Happy to be home!
Agreed no need to get sick hanging out in the hospital!
Thanks

When I received IVIG, I did five sittings, one every other day, for nine or ten days total. (That is five infusions in ten days) I have never had any since. I believe in IVIG
Thank you for your comments and concern.
I met with my neuro and she explained the timing change to me...apparently since they ran the IV continuously I received the full dose. (It took about 16 hours as it was run very slow at rate 40 ) The 2 1/2 days would have been if they had disconnected me in between each treatment.
Doctor now says I will need two eight hour courses every three weeks.
She is having a nurse come to my house two days in a row to administer the treatments.
Has anyone had this done at home? I am a little nervous about it as at the hospital they had me on a heart monitor...
Any advice ?
Thanks
Jamie
Good luck

I believe the speed you are getting is VERY slow. It should get faster after starting.
I finished all of my sittings in less than 6 hrs per sitting. Most of them less than 5hrs.
Having said that, it was too fast for me one time (over 320) and I did almost go into shock, so having the heart monitor is a good thing. Never hurts to take precautions.
I was very comfortable going around 160-200 most of the time. There should be a gradual increase, starting with 16 or 32 until a max speed and then that goes until bag is empty. May want to consider going faster so you don't have to sit so long.
Good luck
