So you guys know how I am when I'm bored. I need entertainment. So I an starting a hospital humor thread. It's up to you guys to make me laugh.

I'll start.

The nurse walks in and says "I noticed that you've been going to the restroom a lot. Why is that?"

I looked up at my IV pole and said "Because I have been hooked up to an IV since 6 last night and had OK and apple juice to drink on top of that."

"oh that makes sense"

Apparently they log everything but the obvious stuff.

How can you tell you had an operation in a teaching hospital?
All the black and blue spots along your sides where the residents were leaning their elbows while they watched.

Rochester MN, the small city home of the huge Mayo Clinic, is the only city in the world where it is against the law to call out "Is there a doctor in the house?"

The law is to stop the stampede of doctors rushing to help out.

Don't worry, you'll miss it when you're gone. My husband had absolutely zero interest in tracking my urinary output when I got out last week. Shocking!

July 3rd...I had plasmapheresis. I had a new first year path resident. He literally came to my bedside 6 times to ask questions he kept forgetting for his records. (After 4, I asked him if he wanted to pull up a chair until he completed his paperwork...which I thought was mildly funny!) The 7th and final time he came....he asked me to sit up so he could listen to my heart and lungs. As I am trying not to move my arms....and squeeze my balls...I had to ask him to come back when I was a bit more free.

Another case of the obvious seemed to be missed!!

The Pope went to heaven and was met by St.. Peter who said that he might be the Pope on earth, but in heaven, all were equal and would he like something to eat after his journey.

So they were waiting in line in the cafeteria when this big guy in a white coat with a stethescope around his neck came running in, broke in line and grabbed his dinner.

The Pope turned to St. Peter, " I thought you said everyone was equal here." St. Peter replied, " uh, that's God, he thinks he's a surgeon (or neurologist, or ER doctor--whoever is bugging you!). b.

When I went in to have one of my boys my Doctor told me, "You have such a unique last name I decided to look it up and find out what it means... Turns out it means 'Pin cushion'!
I remember laughing way more than a mother should be during the deliveries of my three youngest boys!
