When the girls were young, I used to send them to their room and consider life from their perspective, four or five years of world experience. This was when I was exasperated with them. But I think it works sometimes when you don't know what to do or say, just the total concentration on the child, nothing in particular (and hope you are concentrating on the right one!) and when the time comes, the right words often come, too. Even the short times of quietness you can grab here and there can keep you going. It helps , it really helps, to know that the people here are pulling for you as we try to navigate this difficult time. Hoping we all get safely to shore! Holding you (and your smile) in the light, b.
