I got out of the hospital on Monday after 12 days with pneumonia and respiratory failure.
The prednisone masked my pneumonia symptoms. I had gone urgent care two days before but she did not do an xray.
My finger nail turned blue the night before I went to the emergency
department. Note to self that's respiratory failure.
Admitted to ICU for day. Must better care when I went to Telemetry. Loving nurses. ICU did not like me as I was awake and alert and asking to go to the bathroom every two hours because of my restless leg. I needed to move around but they had to assist me.
Sleep in a chair the whole time in telemetry by choice. Easier to breathe sitting up.
I was to weak to move around in the bed in the hospital.
So happy to be sleeping in my bed at home.
Better was very winded when I walk across the room.
Able to take care of myself with help getting groceries and laundry.
See primary on Thursday and Neuro of Friday as I am concerned about the wean from prednisone. Am on 40 mg now. Don't want to go down 10mg for 4 days and another 10 mg after that. I was at 17.5 mg before the pneumonia. Had weaned for 2 wks from 20 mg. I was up to 90 mg at the beginning of hospital stay.

I feel much better now that I am at 13. I never coul dhave handled a drop that big bit I was on it for a long time. Maybe since you haven't been on that high a dose it is ok to drop like that. Are you sure he said days and not weeks????maybe you need clarification. Dropping 10 in a 4 week period would make more sence wouldn't it?

My new doctor said she has not had an MG patient in 15 years. Glad I have an appointment on Friday with the Neurologist to discuss the prednisone wean. By the way the doctor today did not even listen to my chest. Isn't that strange?
