A week and a half ago, my thoracic surgeon attempted a thorscopic (video assisted) thymectomy. When they deflated my lung, my oxygen levels dropped. After repeatedly trying, he gave up.
We had not discussed completing the surgery transsternally (splitting my chest open), which I would have said DO IT!!! But since there was no permission,. he had to close me up. We're going to try again in June.
But I took a good sized dose of mestonin before my procedure. Did all the fluid that seems to form everywhere (lungs, saliva, G.I. tract) have an impact????? Has anyone else had a thymectomy and been told NOT to take mestonin pre-surgery? Has anyone else had a difficult surgery related to meds?
