Hand Weakness

Does anyone ever feel pain in there hand when they are dealing with weakness..?

MG weakness is not supposed to be painful, so say my neurologist and rheumatologist.

Is there any swelling or warmth in your hands? Many of us have coexisting rheumatoid/inflammatory arthritis which definitely gives pain.

Not that I wish that on you at all...I hope someone else comments and says that they only have MG and they sometimes do experience pain with their weakness. Everyone is different, and we are not all textbook cases. I do know all my muscles seem achy when I'm in a particularly bad exacerbation.

I did have pain for a while before any other arthritic symptoms showed up. That was all before my MG, though, so the diagnosis was easier.

Do you have a helpful doctor to talk to about dealing with the pain? There are some options if you feel like it needs treatment...

I often strain muscles when they are weak. If I pick up or pull down on something expecting to have strength and then don't I have injured myself and then have pain for weeks until it heals. Also pain and cramping from forcing myself to finish just then little bit will get something done.

No pain in my hands from weakness. I do have arthritis in my feet and I occasionally have severe foot cramps. I never figured out if it was cramps from MG or RI.
