I thought we might all need some levity at this time of year. I went to the outpatient Pulmonary Function Lab today for the scheduled pulmonary function tests. I had called ahead last week to see if I needed to stop my Mestinon - no need said the person who answered the phone.
I arrive and the testing is in a newly renovated section of the very old hospital where I worked when I first developed asthma - bad air, mold, animals, you name it! I end up in the actual room where I worked for three horrible hot/freezing years.
They tell me to sit down in the nice padded chair with a pillow on the armrest and say I'm there for arterial blood gases. I thought that the form and three scheduling calls all said 'pulmonary function testing"! I had waited since June for this test so was happily surprised.
My family doc said specialist had to order it - big mix up for months. The tech said the family doc could have ordered them after all. Oh, well at least the tests are done. I called yesterday to book the followup appointment to get the results as directed by the sleep lab. Feb 4th is the first free appointment! At least it is before the MG doc on Feb 19th. You just have to laugh some days, or you'll cry!

I did my research here on the members group link. My dentist really listened to me when I explained why I really didn't wAnt certain local anesthesia. He used instead one that would not exacerbate MG. Sorry, I can't remember the name.
He also used the laughing gas (my first time) Boy did that take the stress out of it for me!
