I just found out today that I've been taking the generic brand for several years and in reading on this site, someone said the generic was like candy to them ad they had to take the name brand. I contacted my pharmacist this a.m. and found out that the generic costs $60 and the name brand is over $300!!!!!!. Wow! I'm 65 and just went on Medicare back in December and purchased the Plan D drug supplement but find that this particular drug is not covered. Has anyone ever used the Canadian phrarmacies or is that trouble!
I did have problems with a prednisone I did not absorb from Roxanne Laboratories, which was disturbing, but the pharmacist replaced the pills with my old (Qualitest) generic and I have regained the lost ground. Not an experience to be repeated.
When you are doing well with a particular generic, you can usually request that all future refills be with the same manufacturer. That is what they will do with my generics from now on.
I would be hesitant to purchase out of the country drugs or over the internet. There has been a lot of counterfeiting of expensive drugs and not only are the ingredients you expect not there, sometimes other drugs which are harmful are used instead.
