I can't really make any good suggestions as I am currently losing weight. I have been having some kefir yogurt every day to try to restore my good bacteria that was wiped out by all the antibiotics I have been on.
The only fresh fruit I can manage is a banana. I have given up most meats. Cottage cheese is a good protein source for me. I managed small pieces of turkey at thanksgiving if I had gravy. Veggies can be cooked and mashed. Sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, carrots are easier and I whirlygig the cooked peas or green beans.
My weight has fluctuated a lot as I have had limited activity this year due to 7 hospitalizations, 5 of those for surgeries. I am looking for more protein sources and think I may try some protein powders.
I do manage to have bran everyday by soaking it in milk. For someone who has gastric problems that would probably not be a good idea due to the fiber but for me it works well. So much of this is trial and error and needs to be individualized. My lower GI tract had started slowing but the pyrido perked it up enough for now.
I will look forward to seeing what ideas others have come up with.
I also use egg salad and tuna salad by mixing mayo with mashed egg or tuna.
