I have not had a swallowing test. If they discover it is positive, is there anything that can be done?
I like crunchy raw foods. This is causing me to change food choices to things I di not care for.I do not like mushy food....pureed food.
I'm not sure why, and I've never experimented to see what it does, but a lot of antacids have magnesium as an ingredient.
Also, I chew my mestinon and wash it down -- my belief is that it causes less stomach upset this way.
But I used to get stuff stuck in my throat all the time. I haven't in a while -- and yesterday my neuro told a resident during my visit that I was "in remission"... funny I don't feel any different and I still get that unstrung feeling when my mestinon is wearing out.
I think I will celebrate by eating a tough steak!

I've also had that feeling where it feels like a fist is stuck halfway down my food pipe. Rice is a primary offender on that one as is white bread. I have just learned the best thing is to take smaller bites and eat slower. If it starts I have learned to just put the fork down and wait for my body to catch up. And I once tried to wash it down. That was painful.
