This is my first time posting here and thanks for welcoming me! I am a 36 year old Mother of 2.
It has been a long, hard road this past year. I had neurological symptoms starting in March of 2013 and they were looking at MS being the strongest possibility. I have seen a MS specialist a couple of times as well as many MRIs. They have tested me for seizures among other things, and blamed alot on anxiety (which only began with all of these scary tests and potential diagnosis). They also diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia.
As of late, they were moving away from a MS diagnosis because of my MRI (only one lesion). I sought a second opinion with another Neurologist last week due to Ptosis in my right eye (this is the third time it has happened over one year) and this time I caught it on camera.
He ordered MG blood tests for me. I don't think he believes it's a sure bet for diagnosis but when I put the pieces together, I think it may be.
Here are my symptoms (some don't sound like MG maybe...)
-Ptosis in my right eye (not all the time)
-Pins and needles (on right side)
-hand tremors (infrequent)
-Extreme fatigue, particularly in afternoon. I sleep 10 hours every evening and need a nap every day (which I don't get!)
-weakness of muscles (when I use them, they are very easily tired...)
-dropping of things with right hand (weakness?)
-dizziness (I feel like my eyes are unsteady too)
-shortness of breath--- this can be major. When I pick up my Son or make the bed, or do something seemingly simple, I get SOB very easily. I had thought this was maybe asthma or even cardiac related
I will be having my MG tests (bloodwork) done on Wednesday. I don't expect that you will know if this sounds like MG but maybe you will have some of the same symptoms. I am actually a little afraid they won't find anything...yet again...and I will have to keep pressing on for more answers.

Not sure my new Neuro is a specialist, but he is the first Neuro to have mentioned MG as a possibility!!
Everyone here is just wonderful and I don't know what I would do without the folks here. You will learn a lot here as well.

Which other autoimmune diseases does MG mimic? I just ask because I am in the same boat as LB1977.
