In my opinion I don't see any real benefit for an eye exam for you now especially with the meds your taking and your ivig . Giving yourself some more time to improve might be best for now.

Another note--if tested for glaucoma (eye pressure) have your eyes washed out immediately to keep from having to line up the two hoods of your car with the two trunks of the car in front of you to get home--better to patch or have another driver. :-) b.
One strange thing. I have astigmatism. It is possible under just the right conditions--when my eyes are really tired and the astigmatism is really acting up and I am trying to focus on something not straight ahead--to see 3 items for a few seconds, not just double. That is really weird.

You could always go and try though, as long as you manage your own expectations about the outcome. Do you want glasses to help for when your eyes aren't tired, or when they are tired and giving you blurry/double vision? It might be worth asking the eye doctor if you should come in when your vision is good, or when it's bad/tired/blurry. You'll get different results on the eye exam.
