I hope you can get your test soon. Take care.
If you are referring to a single breath counting text, my worst was 30 - not so bad but it was scary because it was my first time with breathing difficulties. Since then I'm between 30-45, usually 40. My breathing is an issue if I walk to fast or up a hill or if I'm just doing simple things like putting laundry on a clothesline. But it usually gets better rather quickly. They did some breathing testing with exertion and my outcome was excellent - 95% of what is to be expected for a person of my age and gender. But I'm sure last summer I would have done way better - I would guess 110%. I'm used to walk my dog for 20-30 minuets every morning in a rough and steep landscape - now the same route takes me 40-45 minutes and I have to take a shower afterwards because I sweat so much.
It is so difficult to explain how it feels. Breathless isn't the best way to explain it. It is more like shallow breathing, where it is mostly difficult to breath in. I have this feeling of wanting to stop breathing for a while just so my diaphragm can rest for a while. And I sometimes do, just for few seconds. I notice that I use my chest muscle more. I find it difficult to breath when I lay dow flat, like in the MRI or CT. I can't where a belt because it feels difficult to breath. And sometimes when it has been a longer period of difficult breathing it feels like I have ate far to much (without having done that at all) and it is difficult to breath "to my stomach".
I just started diagnostic treatment of Mestinon one week ago. I'm still on tiny dose - 20mg 3 times a day. But I can feel it does a bit of a difference. My smile looks like a smile (not my normal smile though) for few hours after taking the pills. But is gone back to just being a grimace in the morning. I can't wait for the doctor to rise the dose so my double vision will get better and my swallowing. And just to confirm that I do have MG.
A single breath count test of 10 is seriously low. You should be tested. I hope you will get some answers and help.
