Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular disease leading to fluctuating muscle weakness and fatiguability. The hallmark of myasthenia gravis is muscle weakness that increases during periods of activity and improves after periods of rest. I need all the sleep I can get. The lack of sleep is one of my worst enemies. I have never been a nap person. Too much to do in life to waste time napping but now I take every chance I have to nap even is only for a few minutes. Being physically tired is also bad for us. I do everything I can in small steps. Pushing my self too hard can result in several days of pain and feeling bad.
Be careful, take it easy, ration your energy and above all be good to yourself.
TBreak, rest is key with MG. Stress can make symptoms worse too.
Naps ALWAYS help me. Sometimes, just going somewhere quiet and being very still helps too, if I can't sleep.
Take it easy.

I cant nap at this point since it causes me to not sleep at night. But...resting definitely helps when things aren't going well.
Seems like any change in routine causes my MG to make itself known.

I myself wish I can take naps. Seems I can never find time. Busy busy busy. I am not even getting enough sleep in general these days and thanks for reminding us all that we need sleep!
Some of you please catch some shuteye for me! Thanks!
I am unable to sleep during the day. Sitting does little to help regain strength. I must lay down flat numerous times through the day; I'm fortunate that I can do so.
Stress for certain can contribute to worsening symptoms. It's hard to avoid and at times harder still to manage. For some meditation helps, others its prayer or journaling or music or therapy. Maybe a sit in the woods would help you?
I'm sorry you are going through a difficult time right now. I hope it passes quickly.
Please take care, Larissa
Please get as much rest as you possibly can. Emotionally charged stress and physical stress also greatly worsen my MG symptoms. Good luck.
